Plenary Health has been selected by the Bridgepoint Health and Infrastructure Ontario to design, build, finance and also maintain the new hospital.
The 10-story hospital will be built across a 60,000 square feet area. The hospital design has to be in sync with providing people rehabilitation services and aid to people suffering from complex chronic disease and disability.
The new hospital facility will feature larger rooms and include space to provide therapies and accommodate 472 beds.
The hospital premises will also include the Don Jail, located near the Don River. Its interiors will also undergo refurbishment and turned into an administrative and education center for the hospital. The historical significance of the jail will be maintained through the refurbishing process.
HDR Architects/Diamond Schmitt Architects Inc., PCL Constructors Inc., Johnston Controls Inc., Innisfree and RBC Capital Markets come together to form the Plenary team of the Plenary Group.
