The offices of Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council, and the Guardian newspaper are among the best designed and most innovative workplaces in the country, according to the British Council for Offices (BCO), which has announced the winners of its annual awards to find the Best Workplace of 2014.
According to the BCO’s the ‘respected National Awards programme recognises top quality office design and functionality and sets the standard for excellence across the office sector in the UK’.
Unsurprisingly, London took the most awards with four respected developments taking home a trophy, including the Guardian’s offices in Kings Cross, which won the Test of Time award for continuing to deliver innovative office space, five years after the building was last awarded.
Other categories include best refurbished and recycled office, best fit Out of Workplace, and an award for innovation in office design.
