A staycation at the ICEHOTEL in Swedish Lapland is the ultimate winter experience, and now with winter in full swing, ICEHOTEL #27 have opened their doors to welcome the season’s first guests.
The ICEHOTEL, which opened last week, is located in Jukkasjärvi. The unveiling of its unique designs saw two British artists amongst the creative talent involved in its creation, featuring incredible themes such as the Japanese art of flower arranging and the passion of sleeping inside a dream.

The opening weekend (16 Dec) also saw the start of the 10th winter season of Discover the World’s exclusive #IceFlight operating between Heathrow and Kiruna, with prices for a 3-night break starting from £1,070pp*.
The opening of ICEHOTEL #27 also followed the opening of the first ever, year-round ICEHOTEL 365, which opened on 1 December. What’s more, visitors now have more art displays on offer and 55 rooms made up of art and deluxe rooms and ice rooms.

The seasonal ICEHOTEL #27 will melt away in the spring back to the Torne River, but with ICEHOTEL 365 guests won’t have to worry about the time of year. Noteworthy features include a decadent champagne themed Ice Bar, an Ice Chapel and a unique Ice Gallery.

Over 70 artists, designers and architects from over 15 countries took part in the project, which involved a tremendous amount of snow. Fun fact: The total amount of snow used to create all of the rooms is enough to make more than 700 million snowballs!
