The masterplan has been designed by global architecture, urbanism and design practice Broadway Malyan. Convida Suape is a sustainable urban extension of the city of Cabo de Santo Agostinho near Recife. It will lead to the transformation of a site covering a 470 hectare-area and will have the capacity to house up to 100,000 inhabitants.

The masterplan of the new city involves a compact urban model for walkability and sustainable access to learning, healthcare and employment. Scope of work will encompass creation of eco-friendly buildings and new building typologies which will incorporate integrated utility provision, and will abide by a substantial on-going habitat-restoration programme.

The city will be developed in four phases. It will consist of ten distinct neighbourhoods including construction of 25,000 new homes in 154 hectares of open space. There will also be substantial provision for new businesses, health, education and leisure activities.
