Under the terms of the contract, the company will redesign the existing 70,000 square feet headquarter buildings and retrofit and redesign interiors of an existing BREEAM Excellent-rated building, which is linked to a converted warehouse building.
The project will deliver a vibrant publishing division of Macmillan in London’s Kings Cross area. The new campus will accommodate the Macmillan Education, Palgrave Macmillan, Nature Publishing Group, Pan Macmillan, Digital Science and Digital Education divisions of Macmillan.
Broadway Malyan will retain the original façade of the building and install new cladding to approximately 65,000 square feet and a 7,000 square feet of grade II-listed former Victorian stables, which will then be converted into cafe and presentation space.
The entire project will be executed in multiple phases, with phase I scheduled for completion in 2013. The new publishing campus is likely to open in 2014.
