The new Sun N Fun Wellness Center is a 18,000 square feet facility, which has been specifically designed for the young American population. The Sun N Fun Wellness Center has been designed in a way that it should both establish a connection with the existing swimming pool of the resort, and simultaneously craft an open space where an individual can enjoy breathtaking views of the east.
The eastern and the northern façade of the new wellness centre has been completely created out of glass, which allows the building to reap maximum advantage of the natural light as well as give panoramic views of the outside.
The southern elevation of the building is manifested by large overhangs, which offers protection from the sun. The building has been designed in a way that it embraces several additional green building systems, based on which it is being targeted for LEED Gold certification.
Certain green features of the building consist of a 10,000 gallon rainwater recycling cistern and a state of the art cooling system. All the lights have built-in occupancy and daylight sensors, which brings about additional power saving. The roof of the building has been created out of highly reflective material, which increases insulation that translates into power saving on the HVAC system.
The centre is also seeking LEED gold certification from US Green Building Council.
