The sustainability programs of Centerplate at AT&T Park include biodegradable and compostable foodservice items, eco-conscious menu choices, new ‘green’ concession stands, and a waste diversion and recycling program.

The kitchen facilities and concessions areas feature eco-friendly lighting, paint and refrigeration equipment. Gilroy Garlic Fries, the most popular concessions stand at the park, has been converted into sustainable concepts of operation. A new cooking equipment that claims to reduce the consumption of oil by 32%, has been installed into the Gilroy Garlic Fries.

All food storage containers in the Centerplate kitchens which are no longer usable are composted and recycled. The biodegradable and compostable options are offered by the company for the facility’s disposable foodservice items which includes cups, utensils and plates which are made from corn or potato starch.

A waste diversion program is also operated by the Centerplate in partnership with the Giants, which channels 67% of waste from trashcans to recycling and composting centers. The menu offerings at AT&T Park include locally sourced and organic items to help reduce the fuel emissions and pesticide use.
