The zip tie lamp’s design is based on the concept of recycling the packaging materials of home gadgets and appliances that are considered to clog the landfills and pollute the ecosystem. Charles Parsons has found these materials helpful for what he considers an ‘art’ project.

The Helios lamp’s design is composed of 1,200 zip ties held together by stainless steel nuts and washers. It is 24 inches long and 15 inches in diameter, and is made from acrylic rings. The lamp is also available in a hanging version, which reflects orange lights when switched on.
