Chongqing municipality plans $2.9 billion expansion for Jiangbei airport

The Chongqing municipal government plans to spend $2.9 billion over the next 11 years to add three runways at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport in China.

A new passenger terminal will be built to increase the annual passenger capacity to 60 million by 2020.

Chongqing International was China’s eighth-busiest in 2008 and is owned and operated by Capital Airports Holding Co., the parent of Beijing Capital International Airport Company.
