Being 338.8 metres tall, the Mercury-City is taller than the Shard, which is a 308-meter high obelisk-shaped glass icon in London, designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano.

Designed by the Dutch Architect Erick van Egeraat, in collaboration with M.M. posokhin, and G.L. sirota, the Mercury-City will offer an upscale living to the residents. The design of Mercury-City originates from the American architect Frank Williams, who died in February 2010, before the project was completed.

Situated in the international business area located on the eastern bank of the river, approximately five kilometers away from the Kremlin, it will accommodate residences, offices, garages, shops and restaurants. The Mercury-City will feature modern apartments at the top, surpassing Capital-City, the previous tallest building in Europe, by 40 metres. The 70-storey tower will have five underground floors and is spread over an area of 180,160 square meters.

Construction of Mercury-City started in 2008 and will be ready for occupation in 2013.

Before Mercury-City, the 301.6-m high twin towers Capital-City were Europe’s tallest buildings.
