The design juxtaposed the new lifestyle of the 21st century and the aging history of Denver where the hotel is located. The hotel room renovation included new bed and bedding packages, furniture as well as microwaves and refrigerators. Rooms also feature Reno iPod docking stations along with carpet and drapery. Art pieces of the Rocky Mountains and the Denver Metro area by artist Gifford Ewing will be displayed in the refurbished rooms.
The hotel is owned and operated by Sage Hospitality and features 177 rooms with 3,200 square foot area of meeting space including facilities such as free wireless internet, a business centrer, and a modern fitness centre.
The Courtyard by Marriott Denver Downtown originally opened as a Joslins department store in 1873.
