Sugar Ridge hotel is on west coast of Antigua and is nestled into a natural hillside bordered with sugar cane.

All of the bedrooms are grouped into sets of four, each with its own entrance and radio frequency activated door locks. The unique groupings and landscaping provide privacy. The upper floor rooms have a large veranda, dining deck and day bed, while the lower floor rooms have similar facilities plus a private plunge pool.

The muslin draped king sized four poster bed is the centerpiece to the room. Clever use of natural tones, contemporary styles, colonial accents and rich, dark woods offers a warm ambiance to the rooms. State-of-the-art amenities and technology, which includes iPod docker, electronic safe, LCD flat screen TV, and complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access are available in each room.

Sugar Ridge also unveiled its 6,000 square feet Aveda Concept Spa. The spa, located in the resort’s ground floor, features a large fitness center and two swimming pools with sun bathing areas. One pool is 82 feet and the other 44 feet. The facility features warm and earthy tones with an intention to offer a relaxing ambiance. The spa with an open space layout features four treatment rooms with high ceilings.

d-studio has used color palettes such as caramel, vanilla, molasses, green, and orange mixed with an array of textures create warm and welcoming spaces. All the textures that are used recalls sugar cubes, sugar cane stalk, citrus, honeycombs, and crystals, as stated by Charmaine Benjamin-Werth, Sugar Ridge’s interior designer and principal at d-studio. The design team focused on creating a space that takes full advantage of Caribbean heritage.

An air-conditioned gym is located next to the spa, which features 24 fitness machines and 13 more for cardiovascular health. An air-conditioned studio for aerobics, Pilates, and yoga classes is also located near to the spa.

Aidan McCauley, the owner of Sugar Ridge said that the resort will soon be adding 54 luxury villas.
