The project is inspired by the dolls’ house Edwin Lutyens designed for the British Empire Exhibition in 1922 – using a very traditional children’s toy to display the very best of modern British architecture, craftsmanship, art and interior design.
Among those participating are Adjaye Associates, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, Dexter Moren, dRMM, Duggan Morris Architects, Glenn Howells Architects, Guy Hollaway Architects, Make Architects, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and Zaha Hadid Architects.
They have been challenged to work with an artist, designer and furniture-maker to make the end products even more special. Among the collaborations FAT is working with Grayson Perry, and Studio Egret West with Andrew Logan.
The auction is on 11 November.
