‘Tis the season to be jolly – and, if we’re honest, a little bit silly too. After a year of serious work, designers and architects often enjoy the chance to let their creativity loose on something a little more frivolous, such as this project initiated by specialist design contractor Syntec.
Turning Leaves by Milk
Last year Syntec sent a bag of LEGO to some of London’s most creative design and architecture studios and asked for a Christmas-related design in return. This year, the company decided to ring the changes, asking designers to come up with Christmas-themed installations and videos made with Plasticine.
Peace Love & Understanding’ by Staf, Ruby, Isla & Zola at The Office
The responses came in photographic, gif and video form and, while some entrants kept to a festive feel, other themes went way beyond Christmas. The project culminated in an awards night at Mount Anvil’s marketing suite in Shoreditch, which also sponsored the evening.
Marbled Candles by VW & BS
The winner of the still images category was Gravity Design with its London Skyline entry and the winner of the video category was Brinkworth with a festive Michael Jackson tribute.
