The Y-shaped, single-storey school built by Persimmon Homes will have an accommodation capacity of 420 and will feature a 30-place nursery. There will be 12 standard classrooms and a large room for nursery and reception classes in the facility. The school will incorporate two junior football pitches, a netball court, hard and soft play spaces and covered outdoor sections. The facility will also feature a kitchen garden and a small pond.
Other amenities of the school include five shelters comprising racks to accommodate 40 children’s bicycles, 20 adults’ bicycles and four scooters. In addition, there will be 30 car parking lots for staff and visitors as well as three areas to facilitate the disabled. Trees at the northern boundary will be retained.
The new facility is expected to open by September 2012.
