Work for refurbishing the terminals opened by the airport in 1974 will be carried out in various phases. Phase 1 of the project conducted in Terminal A will reconstruct Gates A9 to A11 and one gate among the three parking garages of the same terminal.
Other upgrades will include redevelopment of A, B, C and E, terminals as well as providing a facelift to various passenger facilities like ticketing, safety and concessions. The existing plumbing, electrical, ventilations systems and other amenities at the terminals will also be replaced as part of the project.
The remodelled terminals will feature increase in terminal concessions area. Plans also include club concessions areas to villages in close proximity to the inspection points and skylink people to mover stations.
Construction work at Terminal A is scheduled to be ready by 2014 with the entire project due for completion by 2017 end.
