The project involves construction of a new 4,800-square-feet office building, which will serve as the regional headquarters of DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife. The scheme is being developed at the southwest corner of Goose Pond, overlooking the the 8,064-acre Greene County property.

The visitor centre will sit next to the wetlands. It will feature floor-to-ceiling glass walls, which will enable the visitors to enjoy the views of the wetlands. Additional green features of the building will consist of a green roof and a living wall.

DNR has received a donation of $25,000 for the construction of the visitor centre from Friends of Goose Pond group.
