Formerly a Radisson-branded hotel, the new DoubleTree by Hilton Des Moines Airport is an upscale hotel which has undergone an extensive renovation to bring it in-line with Hilton standards. Located at 6800 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, the hotel offers access to Highway 5 and Interstates 35 and 80 and to Des Moines International Airport
The renovation project has given a new lease of life to all the spaces of the hotel. Guest rooms have received new carpeting, window treatments, furniture and bedding, in addition to complete refurbishment of the ensuite bathrooms. The rooms feature bright décor and are loaded with modern comforts and conveniences, such as granite bathrooms; mini-fridge; spacious work desks with ergonomic chairs; and large high-definition LCD TVs among other features. The bath of the suites now also have a whirlpool, which adds to the luxury quotient of the guestrooms.
The function space, including a 648 square feet meeting room, features bold patterned carpets, new lighting and window treatments. The lobby renovation has added modern, chic furnishings, a fireplace, business centre and new lobby lounge.
The amenities for the guests include a heated indoor swimming pool, which has been upgraded with new deck furniture; and an upgraded fitness centre. For business travellers, the hotel offers round-the-clock, self service business centre. The gastronomic options at the hotel include Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, boasting an Italian décor complimented by traditional and innovative items; and Blue Bar.
