To be designed by AJ100 architects Falconer Chester Hall, the student accommodation will comprise a mixture of contemporary cluster flats and studios with a retail arcade on the ground floor.

The building will be built to achieve a BREEAM rating of Excellent. It will use photo-voltaic roof panels to generate part of its power and include 300 cycle stands to encourage sustainable travel.

The accommodation forms part of the wider CB1 regeneration scheme of Cambridge railway station and the surrounding areas. It includes the development of residential apartments, commercial space, retail and hotel space, restaurants and bars. In total, three six-storey blocks will be delivered containing 586 bedrooms.

The works are due to start on site in spring 2013 and complete in autumn 2014.
