Duravit earlier collaborated with star designer Philippe Starck on the SensoWash shower-toilet seat, which was a blend of design and washing comfort. Externally, Philippe Starck’s first design was focused on maximum discretion. To ensure the continuous flow of clean lines, the technical components were miniaturised so that the entire technology could fit between the ceramic body and the seat.
The new version of SensoWash C shower toilets feature concealed electricity and water connections. In keeping with Philippe Starck’s desire for a slim silhouette and timeless modernity, this further simplifies the elegant lines. The new solution with concealed connections can be combined with the Starck 2, Starck 3 and Darling New ranges. It also features plug-in connectors for water and electricity and is easy to install.
SensoWash’s bidet is available in a stainless steel spray arm, which offers three different types of showers. Comfortwash aims at offering attentive wash that cleanses both with the forward and backward movement of the spray arm or also with a pulsating water jet. The water jet of the Ladywash is specially tailored to female needs, offering gentle cleansing. Water temperature, water intensity and nozzle position can all be individually adjusted and, once saved, are easy to select again. Freshly showered, the next stage is the warm, drying air. The spray arm and nozzles are cleaned automatically before and after each use. As a preventive measure, both the stainless-steel spray arm and the toilet seat have an antimicrobial coating.
The remote control is designed to operate all functions. The three-dimensional alignment of the remote control enables a logical layout of the function keys. The keys feature clear symbols, are operated intuitively, and are briefly illuminated on selection. The remote control can be used to lift lid, lift seat and lid, and close lid. The seat itself is heated and the temperature can be individually controlled. When the user takes a seat, the desired wash function or dryer is selected by remote control. The arrow keys are used to change the position of the spray arm. Water pressure, and dryer, seat and water temperature can be individually adjusted using the +/- keys. Personal preferences can be stored in two profiles, which are then simply selected the next time.
SensoWash C features LED night-light function, which provides orientation and safety when it is dark without interrupting the body’s repose. In addition, it has a child-safety feature preventing unwanted splashing. This is achieved using a sensor integrated in the seat that allows the function to be used only when it recognises the weight of a real user. Temperature sensors protect against the rising temperatures. The SensoWash programme also includes a standby and a power-saving mode.
