Designed by the North Carolina-based architectural practice JDavis Architects, the new 386-bed student housing project will cater to graduate students and upperclassmen whose housing needs are not met on the Duke University campus. The new community will be within walking distance of recently leased university office and research space where graduate students will be employed or studying.
The new scheme will be an urban-style, mid-rise development, which will offer studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Besides that it will also feature various modern amenities like lounge, coffee bar, fitness centre, yoga area, cable, and Wi-Fi and internet access.
Outdoor grilling area and swimming pool will also be included in the scheme to offer a luxury touch. Additionally, an attached garage would be built, which will provide nearly 400 parking spaces for residents.
The scheme is scheduled for completion in summer 2014.
