Emirates Stadium in London, the current home of Arsenal Football Club, has received an improved Club Level, a premium tier of 7,000 seats, featuring a tailored furniture package.
Viaduct worked closely with UK-based multi-disciplinary strategic design consultancy 20|20, to create, specify and install a tailored furniture package, which reflects the club’s forward thinking ethos and brand heritage. The furniture selected includes British manufacturers such as Tom Dixon, George Smith and Ryan, alongside international brands such as MDF Italia, Lammhults Arper, Santa & Cole and Bocci.
The existing Woolwich suite has now been divided into four distinct areas: The Foundry – a new buffet-dining restaurant across two intimate spaces; WM Club and WM Lounge – an exclusive à-la-carte fine-dining restaurant; and Woolwich – a flexible, double height space that offers hospitality on match days, providing conference and event facilities at other times.
The furniture collection employed at the space are Tom Dixon’s Slab chairs, Slab barstools, Wingback Chairs, Wingback Sofas, Slab coffee tables, Copper Shade lights, Beat lights and Punch lights; George Smith’s Wingback Sofa and Chair; Lammhults’ Cooper tables; MDF Italia’s Flow chairs and T-Tables; Bocci’s bespoke cluster of 134 14-series lights; and Ryan’s Simple tables and flip-top Inter tables.
Viaduct was invited by 20|20 Design Consultancy to advice on a furniture package for a series of new restaurants and lounges within the Emirates stadium. 20|20 set a clear and detailed brief for the project which also required the spaces to be able to be reconfigured for corporate functions.
Viaduct’s showroom is a dramatic 1930’s galleried industrial space in Clerkenwell, London. Viaduct provides the specifier with a comprehensive selection, but also a high level of service from initial enquiry through to delivery and installation. The varied showroom display is constantly updated with the latest work from contemporary furniture and lighting designers.
Opened in July 2006, Emirates is the second largest club stadium in England after Manchester United’s Old Trafford, and the third largest stadium of any kind in London, after Wembley and Twickenham, and overall the fifth largest football stadium in the UK.
