The new eco-friendly service station has been designed by integrating a range of unique features in an attempt to reduce the ecological footprint of the users. Solar-powered lights, a waterless car wash system, eco-friendly products, and the vapor recovery system – a new technology that reduces carbon emissions and fuel wastage, are a few of the sustainable elements featured. ENOC has already received approval from the Leadership in Energy Design Certification System (LEED).
The new green station offers high tech eco-features. The station provides eco-friendly engine oils such as PROTEC and VULCAN Green for consumers. A unique fuel-saving device called Hicione, helps to reduce fuel consumption and carbon percentage. Located in a residential area, the green filling station is fitted with noise reduction barriers.
A water recycling system at the car wash enables the waste water to be re-used. As and when the vehicles get washed, the water, instead of going in the sewage network, is collected in an underground tank. This water is purified so it can be used again. ENOC has also unveiled future plans to manufacture furniture from recycled materials.
The world’s first ‘green’ gas station, BP’s Helios House in Los Angeles, has been the inspiration behind the Middle East’s first ‘green’ filling station.
