The project will be executed in phases. The construction of a new library and cafeteria forms a part of phase one and was completed by the end of 2010. The new library features offices for the yearbook staff and textbook storage, a small office in its rear portion, a classroom instruction space along with a reading and relaxation area. The revamped cafeteria comprises new appliances, enhanced storage room in the kitchen as well as a larger meeting area.
Phase two of the project will involve restoration of the facility’s gymnasium, bathrooms, floors and bleachers along with installation of new bus canopies and new air conditioning unit. Other features included in this phase are makeover of its science labs and locker rooms, addition of bleachers in the softball field and relocation and renovation of its weight room.
Phase one of the project has been financed by a $2.5 million bond while the the second phase received a $2.5 million loan from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).
