“We’re very pleased to be open again,” said director Dr. Douglas Raber. “Moving a library is not the easiest thing to do but it took us less time than we expected to get the building ready and complete the move.”

The library’s entire collection is again available to the public, including books, audio books and movies. “We’ll be here for about a year while construction and renovation of the library occurs.”

The library has been chosen by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association to receive 17 free hardcover editions of 17 classic books as part of the We the People Bookshelf grant program. The theme of this year’s Bookshelf is “Picturing America.” It includes a range of books to cater to the various grades of school, and also a number of general knowledge books.

We the People initiative supports projects which strengthen the teaching, study, and understanding of American history and culture. Selected public and school libraries in all 50 states each will receive the books (including Spanish translations), posters, and bookmarks.
