Conceived to deliver the blueprint of life underfoot, the DNA carpet tile range is designed to offer the freedom to blend, fuse and create spaces with individual characteristics.
The DNA design, available in a range of sophisticated colourways, is a combination of two contrasting yarn colours developed to create a subtle tone on tone contrast, which is then interspersed with random blocks of textured genetic code. Each DNA colourway is in turn co-ordinated with two single colour RNA elements.
Designed to highlight and enhance the character of DNA, each RNA reference is intrinsically linked by colour and is dyed exactly to match its DNA parent, merging together DNA with RNA to ensure complete fluidity across the entire floor, delivering a carpet tile system that is completely distinctive to the other.
Jason Holmes, head of Textile Design said that DNA can be used as the building block for any interior architecture. He added that DNA is conceived through a fusion of concordant elements and tones, which is something designers can play with to draw people in and experience the space in which it is used.
The collection has the added advantage of being designed to be laid broadloom, keeping the look simple yet strong, once installed. The entire DNA collection can be viewed at Forbo’s London Showroom in Clerkenwell EC1, along with the rest of Forbo’s integrated product portfolio.
