Shed has created a new home for the sport of ping pong with an emboldened new design concept that is full of personality and vigour.
It has delivered a bold and ambitious brand transformation, serving up a fresh new look and feel for Bounce, by dialling up the playfulness and energy that has long been associated with Bounce, and mixed in elements that derive from ping pong’s chic parlour game origins of days gone by.
The design showcases carefully paired fluted timber panelling from parlour days of old, with the sharpness of polished concrete and dark red ceilings for that instant sports hall demarcation. The bold use of geometric patterns, colour blocking techniques all hint to subtle references to the game, with the unmistakeable retro gymnasium-style lines of a ping pong court are visible across the whole of the interiors leaving players in no doubt the game is certainly on!
The judges said: ‘Great use of colour, materials and lights in a non-naturally lit space. A retro, playful feel is achieved within a listed building.’
