The Resort World project involves development of a new casino, a 176-bed four/five-star hotel and spa, conference facilities, a factory outlet centre, a cinema complex, food and beverage retail space and parking for 480 cars.
The maximum height of the building is 36.2 metre at its northern end, with a minimum height of 9.2 metre on the west side. The height at the southern end is 17.6 metre. The maximum width of the building is 114.96 metre at the north end, with a minimum width of 99.51 metre to the south. The maximum length of the building is 228.33 metre.
Inside, the building will accommodate a full height curved glazed atrium, which will be flanked by two angled floating framed planes on either side. Each floor level is expressed within these frames by continuous horizontal full height glazing.
Construction on the scheme is scheduled to begin in October 2012 with completion slated for January 2015. Galliford Try has closed financing on the scheme from Genting UK, the developer of Resort World.
