The phase I of the Beacon project involves development of a five-storey, in-patient tower, which will have a total built up area of 200,000 square feet. The new tower will accommodate 120-patient beds and an advanced heart and obstetrics center. The tower is slated for completion by the end of 2014.

The subsequent phases involves renovations of the Columbian Towers and Health Pavilion. The Columbian Towers will be retrofitted to accommodate department offices, while renovation of the Health Pavilion will involve conversion of three floors into physician offices with an improved orthopedics area.

Additional work involves development of a new conference room at the existing physician’s parking lot of the hospital. The project also involves demolition of certain buildings of the campus, which comprises of carpenter shop, fitness center, the Memorial, Gibault and Willis buildings.

Good Samaritan Hospital has roped in US-based Hunt Construction Group to provide construction services for the scheme. The entire project is scheduled for a wrap-up by mid-2016.
