Epitomising the Hippie-Chic-meets-Glam-Tropez spirit, the designer has used materials and fabrics which convey a sense of beach life. For the relaxation of the customers, the space features a lounge area and a dedicated accessories section, alongside the product displays.
The layout of the space is reminiscent of iconic beach promenades made famous by the beaches of Copacabana whilst the materials palette evokes the simplicity and glamour of the Rivieria.
Exhibiting vibrant colours and rich textures against a neutral backdrop, the department shows the contrast between light and shadow. Giving importance to that idea, the renovated department also features raw outdoor finishes with luxurious details, fabric and movement.
The entire store space is resonant with pale palette of soft white planks and a sun-bleached floor, which provide a neutral backdrop for the colourful products, with timbers used in the display units.
Creating an entirely new space within one of London’s eminent stores, the design of the store captures the essence of beach life. The new space will offer the best fashion selection sourced from Australia, South America, Miami and the UK.
The updated department opened its doors to the customer at the end of October 2012.
