World Architecture Festival (WAF), the world’s largest architectural summit, at its second year, will be held at the Centre Convencions International Barcelona (CCIB). The festival will feature the world’s biggest architectural awards program, the WAF Awards which celebrates the work, concerns and aspirations of the international architectural community.

The WAF Awards gives deserved platforms to shortlisted architects to present their schemes live to international judging panels as they compete for the ultimate accolade of the ‘World Building of the Year 2009’ and other awards.

Ahmed Akudi, vice president of global projects, Grohe, said that being firmly rooted in the design sector, Grohe is close to developments within the architectural world at large.

World Architecture Festival is being launched as an annual event by Emap, the media group which runs other festivals, including the World Retail Congress and Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

Grohe is a German company which offers medium and high-end products such as shower heads and systems, faucet fittings, flushing, installation, and water management systems for residential, public, and commercial installations. About 80% of its sales come from outside Germany.
