The 39-year-old hotel is being expanded from 214 to 226 rooms and will also feature 1,500 square foot of retail space.
It will feature a reflective roof, energy-efficient HVAC system and lighting, new energy-efficient windows, low-VOC adhesives, paints, carpets and sealants, regionally sourced construction materials, low-flow shower heads, dual-flush toilets and green power credits.
Other additional features include a new outdoor swimming pool and deck, larger windows and revamped guest rooms with large work desks. Welcome podiums will replace the traditional check-in desk at the lobby.
Grosvenor is seeking to achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), silver certification for the site. The former Holiday Inn Hotel closed earlier this year and is being re-branded as a Courtyard by Marriott.
Grosvenor bought the 112,500 square foot hotel in 2004, from Starwood Urban as part of a 464,000-square-foot, $200 million retail portfolio package.
