The project will be developed to make the Lincoln Place an attractive, modern community while at the same time preserve the architectural characteristics of the property as well as implement sustainable measures in its design and construction.

To recreate the property as an attractive as well as modern community, the redevelopment includes the rehabilitation of 45 buildings with 696 apartment homes and the construction of 99 new apartments on vacant parcels. Phase one of the project was completed in April 2012 with the redevelopment of four buildings and 65 apartments for returning residents.

Constructed between 1949 and 1951, the Lincoln Place is listed on the national and California registers of historic places. Redevelopment will be done in accordance with the Secretary of Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.

Sustainable features will also be included in the building to reduce existing energy and water usage by more than 30%. Apart from that the redevelopment also includes various modern amenities like 6,100 square feet fitness centre with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, a rooftop deck with panoramic views, an outdoor pool equipped with speakers for underwater music, and four poolside cabanas.

The property will also get an exterior upgrade, which will include extensive landscape and site improvements with the addition of 200 new trees, an open park area with a fire pit and picnic spots. Apart from that Elkgrove Circle will be converted into a large central park and community gathering place.

The full redevelopment of the historic property is scheduled to complete by the end of 2014.
