To allow the city to welcome Minor League Baseball, the new state-of-the-art ballpark will feature approximately 9,500 seats, including club seats and luxury suites. In addition, the ballpark will include office space, weight training and two team retail stores.
Upon completion, the ballpark will become home to the Pacific Coast League’s Tucson Padres, an affiliate of the San Diego Padres. It will also host concerts and community events throughout the year.
The groundbreaking for the new Triple-A ballpark in downtown will take place on 30 May 2013 with the ballpark scheduled to open in 2014.
