Akron-Canton Airport kicked off ‘CAK2018’, its 10-year, $110 million Capital Improvement Plan in 2008. CAK2018 comprises 10 vital projects including the extension and safety upgrade of Runway 5/23, a new federal inspection facility, a new aircraft fire and rescue building, expanding parking for cars and airplanes, and the expansion to the passenger security checkpoint.
All improvements will be designed to match existing finishes used in the recent terminal modification and include the design of a new entry to the terminal gates, the relocation and renovation of the existing concessionaire, and the development of a common meeting point for incoming flight passengers.
Through prior contracts, GS&P has provided Akron-Canton Airport with several services including on-call environmental, deicing and most recently water quality modeling services.
