To be built at the site of the Hammersmith Palais at Bush Road in Shepherd, the project involves development of a new student accommodation facility comprising three blocks for Pure Student Living. The Palais has already been demolished. British construction company Morgan Sindall is undertaking the construction.

The three buildings will vary between four to nine storeys in height. The ground floor and the basement levels of the buildings will provide a retail space, which will span up to 23,000 square feet. The floors above will accommodate student units and will house 418 students.

The project will retain the original wall of the Palais, which features iconic artwork. This important cultural heritage of the city will celebrate the cultural significance of the Palais.

The project will also include a host of sustainable elements, which will comprise brown roof and a central ‘energy centre’. The brown roof will be built on the roof of all the buildings and will be completely vegetated. The central energy centre will comprise of gas fired high efficiency boilers with the facility to connect in the future to a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Unit. It will provide heating for the entire facility and is being developed as a part of a community heating scheme.
