The board approved a low bid from Blaylock Grading Company out of Angier for just more than $124,000 to make needed repairs to allay the field’s existing drainage problem.
The project includes hauling away topsoil, fine grading, fence removal, installing a 6-inch under drain and 10 catch basins, sodding the field and backfilling a ditch at the school’s soccer field.
The school’s booster club and athletic director conducted the bidding process. Scott Sauer, the Harnett County Manager said that funding for the project will most likely come from capital funds designated for school projects.
Games have been postponed due to the project.
