The Haskell Company has won the design-build contract to complete $44.2 million expansion scheme, which will house patient rooms and expanded services for children and women. The 75,000 square feet Florence A. De George Pavilion will also feature full floors devoted to obstetrics and to orthopedic and spine services. Besides additions to the existing hospital Haskell will also renovate more than 50,000 square feet of the hospital on multiple floors and departments.
The new pavilion’s first floor will be designed to feature an entrance lobby, new executive offices, a cafeteria, kitchen and dining room, and a coffee shop. Eight labor and delivery rooms, 15 postpartum rooms, two Cesarean birth and delivery rooms, a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a holding nursery and miscellaneous support services will be located on the second floor. Lastly, the third floor will accommodate 28 private orthopedic and neurological patient rooms, along with a rehabilitation gymnasium.
Haskell is also commissioned to construct a new 9,000 square feet Raso Education Center and upgrade the campus central energy plant. Chief renovations to more than 50,000 square feet of the existing Jupiter Medical Center will be carried out simultaneously with new construction.
Work on new additions and renovations at Jupiter Medical Center is scheduled to commence by late 2011 and is expected to be complete in early 2013. Jupiter Medical Center launched a $50 million capital campaign for the ambitious expansion project in January 2011.
