The design-build renovation will involve installation of new club seating and club lounges, renovations to the original concourses and press box, and installation of a new stadium façade at the end zones.
Heery will be responsible for design and program management while Balfour Beatty will undertake construction. Project design began in June 2012 with construction scheduled to commence in January 2013. Completion is slated for late summer 2013, prior to the start of the State Fair of Texas.
Heery was involved with the renovation of Cotton Bowl in previous years, too. The firm led a $58 million design-build expansion and renovation of the stadium. Completed in 2008, the renovation added 16,000 seats, new concessions and restrooms.
