The renovation project will offer new shops and restaurants and improved services to passengers. The new shops and restaurants include a service complex located near Gates 13-15. The new dining areas include ‘Seasons’ – a restaurant, cafe and bar, and ‘At Bar Delight’, where mobile devices and laptops can be charged.
Juha-Pekka Pystynen, the director of Helsinki Airport, said that while planning the restaurant services, the eco-friendliness and ethical values were taken care. The terminal also features Finnair’s new Via Spa to give sauna and natural treatments to the passengers.
The new terminal also features a Kalevala Koru jewelry outlet an ARG fashion boutique, a Helsinki Airport Duty Free shop, and a Readers’ bookstore. A new passport control has also been opened along with smoking lounge. There is also a modern SAS-lounge and a transfer information desk. Except shops selling tobacco and alcohol, which will be available only for passengers departing on international flights, all the shops and restaurants at the airport can be used by all passengers.
The saunas available at the airport include spruce sauna, stone sauna from the Alps, steam sauna as well as traditional Finnish sauna. They will also give a view to the aircraft taxiways. Located between Gates 36 and 37 at Terminal 2, the Via Spa is open daily for passengers over 18 years of age.
