Despite all the talk about hot-desking and the paperless office, many of us still find ourselves working beneath ever-mounting piles of paper and personal effects. With this in mind, US furniture giant Herman Miller has launched a new desktop storage system called Formwork.
Designed by Sam Hecht and Kim Colin of Industrial Facility, Formwork comprises a pencil cup, large and small tray, large and small box, tissue box and paper tray; each Formwork element can be individually combined, connected, and stacked to fit the user’s personal needs and requirements.
Industrial Facility, fronted by duo Sam Hecht and Kim Colin, formed in 2002 with a vision ‘to explore the junction between industrial design and the wider world’.
Industrial Facility has designed a variety of objects, each with a varying purpose for leading international companies such as Yamaha, Mattiazzi, Muji and Louis Vuitton.
Available in a palette of sophisticated colours, each element is shaped in ABS plastic with a non-slip silicone base giving a level of thoughtfulness rarely offered in desktop goods.
