The grand opening celebration of Hilton Lexington/Downtown will unveil the hotel’s three-story mosaic water fountain, made with more than 10,000 hand-cut and placed glass pieces.

Hilton Lexington, a Hilton affiliate hotel, is a 22-story hotel featuring 367 guestrooms centrally located in the heart of Lexington’s financial district. The 290,362 square feet hotel includes more than 16,000 square feet of diverse meeting and event space, fitness center, indoor swimming pool and spa, and business center. Hilton Lexington is operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, the nation’s largest independent hotel management company.

Hilton Lexington began an extensive $13 million renovation in March 2009 that includes refurbishment of the hotel’s 367 guestrooms, interior public spaces including the lobby and atrium, Grand Kentucky Ballroom and meeting rooms. The revamp of half of the hotel’s guestrooms and the ballroom, restaurant, lobby, and atrium is now complete. The renovation of the remaining guestrooms is expected to conclude in 2010.

Influenced by Kentucky’s scenic landscape and equestrian heritage, the design concept for the hotel’s public spaces, guestrooms, restaurant, grand ballroom, and meeting rooms incorporates regional motifs. Developed by Atlanta firm Design Continuum, the updated interiors feature a vibrant color palette inspired by regional country scenery. Rich shades of red, green, blue, and gold can be found throughout the hotel’s interior as a modern take on traditional Kentucky design.
