The project involves construction of a seven storey, in-patient hospital tower, which will have a total area of 165,000 square feet. The new facility will accommodate 72 medical, surgical and telemetry beds, six additional intensive care beds and four operation suites.

The building will also serve as the new home for the hospital’s maternity services, which will be migrated from the hospital’s main campus. The new tower will have 25 patient rooms, which will have a family-centric design.

The entire project has been staged in multiple phases, with phase I involving shift of the nursery and NICU services to the new facility. The phase I is schedule to complete in early 2014 and involves construction of first three levels of the building.

The phase II involves construction of tower floors four through seven, and will be completed by the end of 2014. The floors five through seven will not be occupied initially, and will be used for potential growth. Construction of the facility will entail an investment of $100 million.
