Located on a 22-acre site in the Dayton suburb of Beavercreek, Ohio, the 275,000 square feet, 113-bed facility will include emergency care, general surgery, interventional medicine, a birthing center, critical care, medical imaging and cardiovascular diagnostic services.
Sponsored by Kettering Health Network, the new building incorporates a town square concept that simplifies way finding by having all outpatient services and inpatient elevators identifiable from the main entry. The layout also includes a reception area and retail shops. The lower level of this space will include a café opening to an outside terrace and water wall. All waiting areas will overlook an existing outdoor pond.
The emergency treatment center is located directly off the town square to ensure that visitors easily find their way to dining and other services. The second-floor women’s services wing will visually connect to the town square. Other interior features include a coffee bar, chapel and interior skylight courtyard.
Future planning for the site includes locations for several medical office buildings, an additional inpatient tower and expansion ability for diagnostic and treatment facilities.
The team working with HOK includes Program Manager Navigant Consulting; Danis Construction; and Jain Malkin, a noted interior designer. The project is scheduled to be completed in early 2012.
