The hospital will refurbish three of its four operation theaters and upgrade the lighting and cooling system of the fourth theater. The government tender states the project work will include refurbishing ancillary rooms and corridor areas including new suspended ceilings, doors, doorframes, floor and wall finishes, mechanical and electrical services, theater lights and panels.

A hospital spokesperson said that built in 1970, the theaters need to be refurbished to comply with best practice standards.

The project is slated to begin in July and expected to reach completion in five months.
