The rooms of the patient rooms are designed to be family friendly and modern, with monitors, wireless Internet access and flat-screen televisions.
Hospital officials said that with the change, the patients will not have to wait as long to transfer from areas such as the emergency department to their rooms.
Tom Gessel, president and CEO of the hospital, said that the project team has worked extensively with the physicians and other team members to ensure the rooms have the most up-to-date medical equipment needed – and that it is easily accessible to nurses and doctors.
