The current Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki will undergo an extensive renovation and will be re-branded by late 2011 as the 425-room Hyatt Place Waikiki, as per the agreement.
Kokua Hospitality has been appointed by Chartres Lodging and Morgan Stanley Real Estate to manage the Waikiki property and oversee its renovation and repositioning. Once the renovation is completed, Kokua will continue to manage the property. The Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki was acquired in December 2010 by a joint venture of Chartres Lodging and Morgan Stanley.
The Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki will undergo an 18-month long refurbishment including a complete redesign of the lobby, guestrooms and public spaces. Guest rooms, located in the hotel’s 14- and 19-stoery towers, will be reconfigured under Hyatt brand standards, as part of the renovation.
Ocean Resort Hotel Waikiki offers 100% smoke-free accommodations in two towers. The property offers hotel rooms with spectacular ocean views, spacious studios with kitchenettes, or beautifully appointed suites. The property is located on the Diamond Head side of Waikiki; one block from world famous Waikiki Beach and just a short stroll to Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium.
Kokua Hospitality’s portfolio of managed properties includes the Inn of Chicago, The Allerton Hotel, Double Tree Chicago Magnificent Mile and W Aloft Hotel in Maryland.
