says Chris Roche of 11.04 Architects
The ‘Pic-Pod’ is an idea for a picnic pod to be placed in a park or other landscape setting, and which would be readily available to the public as a temporary shelter or amenity for outdoor recreation. The illustration shows the pods alongside north London’s Hampstead Ponds, where nude bathing is available to single-sex groups.
The pods provide privacy when necessary, and somewhere to sit comfortably to enjoy eating al fresco. A variation on the pod would have a covered roof to provide shelter against the occasional shower.
