Design-led contract furniture company Inside Out Contracts has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade.

The award recognises the company’s international growth over the past three years.

The company operates from head office in Greenwich, London and provides bespoke furniture solutions for various international venues, including hotels and restaurants.

First established in 1999, Inside Out Contracts has grown its international presence since 2019, opening offices in Berlin in 2021, New York in 2024 and Barcelona in 2025. Company Founder, Lisa Cluer said: ‘Innovation, design excellence, and exceptional service have always been at the heart of what we do. Expanding our work internationally has only pushed us to grow stronger, bolder, and more creative — we’re proud to represent the best of British design on a global stage.’

The company’s approach begins with understanding the narrative that a space should convey, leading to customisation for each project. Its in-house team collaborates with clients across Europe, the US, and the Middle East to create tailored designs that reflect brand stories.

The King’s Award was presented at a Royal Reception hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle. Lisa Cluer remarked: ‘Winning The King’s Award is a huge achievement, not only reflecting on how we’ve grown as a company but also recognising our values and mission for design-led furniture, bringing our clients visions to life.’

Notable international projects include F1 Arcade in Philadelphia, Raffles Boston, the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dublin, the Guinness Taproom in Chicago, and Monte Mente, Berlin. Inside Out Contracts’ unique pieces—such as the Sada Bar Stool, can be seen in venues like Villa Copenhagen, Denmark and Viceroy Snowmass, Colorado. Each furniture piece is thoughtfully designed to complement the surrounding architecture and reflect the unique character of the venue’s brand.
