The company used its own expertise in green building design to develop this project. The project earned 102 points out of a maximum possible score of 108 for its green credentials. The project generated local employment and benefits from public means of transport, which translated into lesser emission of pollutants and additional LEED points.
The Oakland office of Intergral is an old office building, which is located at 427 13th Street in downtown Oakland. The current project involved a major fit-out program in association with BuildingWise, a high-performance building consulting firm and an affiliate of Integral, to meet the requirements of the company.
The renovation trimmed the power requirements of the building by almost 37% and brought about energy savings of 49%. The building is 40% more water efficient. Additional care was taken to divert construction waste from landfills by utilizing more than 83% of the waste by means of recycling.
